Top 10 Teas For Garden Herbals Honey

June 16, 2023

When you hear the word “herbals,” what comes to mind?

Is it your grandmother’s spice and herb collection, wafting flavorful dust in the pantry as she picks and chooses what to add a pinch of, or a dash to in her secret-magical recipes?

Maybe it’s a garden of fresh, fragrant plants that smell like mist and mystery, menthols and limonenes in spades. (Not a made-up word to go along with the fairytale language, here! Limonenes are plant-derived compounds that have been studied to possess health-promoting and antioxidant benefits. You can find them in many citrus or citrus-scented herbs and fruits, like bergamot.)

Whatever the image may be, now’s the time to add a little extra sweetness to it.

What are Tisanes?

Hopefully you’ve been following for our previous article on Fruit Tea Honey, which included a handy explanation about the difference between “tisanes” of generally-steeped leaf matter and and “true teas” that specifically come from the Camellia Sinensis plant and may or may not have associated rituals around its consumption like tea ceremonies and awkward high tea brunches with distant family members.

This explanation is an important one, because it reminds us that the herbal teas being discussed here will fall into the former category. Just fun facts, ya’ll!

About the Honey

That being said: if you’re a tisane, or non- “true tea” connoisseur already— and ideally, have now availed yourself of many of Adagio’s delightful options like Peach Serenity and Berry Blast following the Fruit Tisane Honey article— then you definitely need to try re-experiencing the concept of folklorean herbal teas with the incredible blended honey from https://adagiobees.com Adagio Bees.

I’m talking about the one and only Herbal Tea Raw Honey!

Why emphasize “raw” honey, by the way? Simple! Raw honey is studied to contain additional nutrients and enzymes that are often lost in the standard pasteurization process. It should be safe for consumption to anyone older than infancy, so spoon away to your heart’s content!

This one is truly a pleasure because its delicate nature can bring out the best in so many herbal teas that other honeys often overshadow, or smother entirely. Herbs like chamomile and peppermint can often be a bit subtle to appreciate when someone is just learning about herbal teas for the first time, though you can look forward to gradually feeling for their natural sweet-floral notes.

As you start to identify as a seasoned, experienced tea drinker, the honey from Adagio Bees will help you experience how intricate those florals can be; not perfumey like a rose garden, but more savory and earthen with the loam of plant-forward mystery.

That’s why I put together a list of my top ten favorite Adagio Teas herbal teas— non-fruity, by the way! — to pair with this amazing Herbal Tea Raw Honey:

Top 10 Tea Pairings

1. Chamomile

I know I should save the best for last— but I wanted to put the best one first here. Who hasn’t fallen into sweet sleep with a cup of chamomile before bed?

2. Peppermint

This one does extra good by being a stomach soother and muscle relaxant. Oversteeping can sometimes rend it bitter, which the honey balances out excellently in a pinch.

3. Double Ginger

In case you really, really like ginger. (See what I did there? That’s double the really for double the ginger.)

4. Spearmint

If peppermint was a little too strong for you, then this should do the trick. It’s milder and sweeter than its cousin, perfect for spring weather!

5. Foxtrot

Lions and tigers and foxes trotting all over the place! This one combines the best of many of the teas we mentioned already.

6. Chicoriccino

This one already has the potential to be decadent with the cocoa inclusion… Now just imagine when you add a touch of extra, subtle sweetness. Divine.

7. Cha Cha

Are you dancing yet? Are you? Okay. Just checking. Because if you’re not, you should be. It’s just that bouncy and delightful of a tea to enjoy.

8. Lemongrass

A profound staple of South Asian cuisine, this herb can feel almost as soothing as chamomile, with a natural sweet scent that gets enhanced with the addition of raw honey.

9. Moringa Mint Twist

This one might actually lift you up a little as a midday booster, so it’s wonderful to treat yourself extra by playing up the herb’s inherent soft notes.

10. Bella Luna Blue

Doesn’t that indigo butterfly pea flower make you want to howl with love at the moon? Unfortunately it’s only available on Blue Moons, so stay tuned for our next one on August 31st, 2023!
